Our specialty has always been water features, but we continue to look for ways to improve the end product. In the mid 2000's we started adding sitting and observing areas near our features. Ultimately, over the years we have improved our skill level in cutting and laying flagstone.
Flagstone has become a really effective add-on by creating a space to relax and enjoy the water feature. We offer several types, but the two most common types we use are Arizona Buff and Colorado Red.
Our Most Popular Flagstone Types

Arizona Buff Flagstone
Our most popular choice when it comes to patios. It's durable, yet cuts smooth and allows for the placement of large pieces

Colorado Red Flagstone
Our 2nd most popular flagstone. The red compliments moss rock boulders well and doesn't come in as large of pieces as the buff.
Natural Elegance: 12 Reasons Why Flagstone Patios Outshine Pavers
Flagstone patios and paver patios both have their advantages, and the choice between the two ultimately depends on your preferences and specific needs. Here are some reasons why flagstone patios might be considered better than paver patios in certain situations:
1. Natural Aesthetics: Flagstone is a natural stone that provides a rustic and timeless appearance, which can complement various outdoor settings and landscaping styles.
2. Unique Patterns: Flagstone comes in irregular shapes and sizes, making it possible to create unique and organic patterns that are difficult to replicate with uniform pavers.
3. Durability: Flagstone is a durable material that can withstand various weather conditions, including freezing and thawing, and is less prone to cracking and chipping compared to some pavers.
4. Slip Resistance: The textured surface of flagstone provides better slip resistance, making it safer for walking, even when wet.
5. Natural Colors: Flagstone is available in a wide range of natural colors, allowing you to choose shades that harmonize with your outdoor environment without fading over time.
6. Low Maintenance: Flagstone requires minimal maintenance, typically needing occasional resealing or cleaning to maintain its appearance.
7. Environmentally Friendly: As a natural material, flagstone is considered more environmentally friendly than manufactured pavers, which may involve resource-intensive production processes.
8. Versatility: Flagstone can be used in various outdoor applications, including pathways, patios, and pool surrounds, offering design flexibility.
9. Resale Value: A well-maintained flagstone patio can add value to your property, as its natural beauty often appeals to potential buyers.
10. Timeless Appeal: Flagstone has been used for centuries in various architectural and landscaping designs, giving it a classic and timeless appeal that can enhance the overall aesthetics of your outdoor space.
11. Customization: The irregular shapes and sizes of flagstone pieces allow for creative and custom designs, enabling you to create a patio that reflects your personal style.
12. Natural Thermal Properties: Flagstone can stay cool in hot weather, making it comfortable to walk on barefoot during the summer.
While flagstone has its advantages, it's essential to note that paver patios also have their own benefits, such as ease of installation, a wide range of design options, and lower initial cost in some cases. Ultimately, your choice should consider your specific preferences, budget, and the intended use of the patio.
